poETRY
To defend drama as poetry, the poetry of language, of visual representation, of the body. To intertwine all the arts in order to explore all kinds of imaginations. To use the matter that conveys emotions and sensations: speech, music, dance, silence. To view the scene as a space where research, freedom and empowerment happen.
POLITICS
Drama as a tool to explore our society and all the forces that partake of it. To question the social hierarchy and ponder together new alternatives. To create artistic forms together with the citizens while keeping tuned to the world around us. To put drama at the core of citizenship and democratic life.
Culture
To develop cultural exchanges in order to share drama practice with as many people as possible. To help all kind of people to have access to drama. To start international exchanges, especially between France and Greece, so as to share artistic experiences together beyond languages and borders.
mEMORY
To view drama as a heritage from the past, a testimony of the present, and a promise for the future. To bring history onto the scene, in order to better question our world, and contemplate the world of tomorrow. To give the public memories of life. To build a common memory of humanity, so as not to forget.

In 480 BC, Leonidas decided to not abandon the battle against the King of the Persians.
In 1836, Texan revolutionaries were besieged for thirteen days at Fort Alamo byMexican troops.
In 2013, members of the Golden Dawn organization laid laurels under the statue of Leonidas in Sparta.
In 2021, the Capitol of the United States of America was invaded by supporters of the outgoing president.
These events have a common point, they are united by the same motto : Molon Labe, come and take them.
Embodiment of courage and emancipation, this adage supposedly pronounced 2500 years ago, has survived through the ages to become a symbol of Greek, European and American far-right movements of today.
How has an ancient incantation over the centuries become a flag is different struggles in various parts of the world, even across different centuries ? Why do we seek to appropriate the slogans of the past to involve ourselves in the present's fights ? What are the links that unite us in our desire to act and defend our vision of the world ? What does the word “resistance” means today ?
Poetically and politically, the Molon Labe project attempts to answer these questions by exploring individual stories within collective destinies. The show questions the presence and commitment of each when it comes to face the disorder of the world, telling the battles, big and small, of men and women. And try, even for the instant of theater, to not surrender.
“So, that was it. I was part of something big, something important. And I couldn't say no.”

CITY’S WORKSHOP
The City’s Workshop offers, thanks to artistic activity, exploration of the relations between citizens and their region, their city or their neighborhood. The workshop is a field of thought, experimentation, exchange, where participants, of any age, social class, origin, can interrogate their personal and group bond with the city : their relationship with architecture, language, society, or with the heritage of history on their city and their identity. How do we build ourselves through our community? How do we create our small space within large spaces ? How do we tell our “little” story around “big” stories ?
In order to answer these questions, Memosyne Theater’s team offers workshops of writing, theatre, visual arts and music, to cross the theme of the city under different artistic perspectives and connect various artistic disciplines.
